At Brennwagen, we use only the choicest materials for all barbecues in our stables: a body formed from premium stainless steel. The perfect choice not only for its great looks, but also for its absolute food safety. The interiors rely on titanium heat ducts, similar to the materials used in jet engine designs. Our Brennwagen barbecues use a light-weight, but extremely robust aluminium chassis. As a final touch, all handles and furnishings are made from exclusive plantation wood – a safe choice for protecting our tropical rainforests.
Our belief in top quality is not limited to our materials alone. We are committed to exceptional workmanship. Most parts of our Brennwagen products are handmade, a unique mark of distinction in Germany’s barbecue industry. Each Brennwagen is born in our dedicated workshop in Cologne.
To make sure that your Brennwagen will keep producing the perfect steak season after season, our team is ready to service all models from the GT 800 upwards in an end-of-season pit stop for a professional service and cleaning. And if you are absolutely sure that you can go without the Brennwagen experience until spring or summer, we are always happy to park your hot rod in the Brennwagen stables for up to six monthsuntil spring or summer.
The Brennwagen idea was born on the racetrack. Our barbecue hot rod is the brainchild of the former Formula 1 engineer Florian Wagner. Passionate about barbecuing, he wanted a new challenge after Toyota’s withdrawal from the racing circuit and made the natural switch from burning rubber to burning charcoal. Florian Wagner heads the Brennwagen enterprise together with his friend, Daniel Ernst, with whom he had already designed his first race cars at university. The natural choice for people with a passion for turning up the heat.

Brennwagen stands for a commitment to exclusive craftsmanship and exceptional quality made by hand. Our barbecues are not mass-produced on production lines, but made by hand with loving attention to detail. Each Brennwagen tells its own story – with unique serial numbers recording where they come from even after years of use.
Every Brennwagen passes through the same stages in its production: After cutting the individual sheets, our technicians give them their final shape and check that each sheet lives up to Brennwagen quality. Trained hands then assemble the pieces one by one, with all due attention to treating the precious materials right. A qualified cabinet-maker fits the hand-ground and polished wood components. All welded parts are joined by our specialist welders and checked by us.
Our welders are masters of their trade and form our smoker units with care and attention. After pickling, the weld seams are deliberately left visible on the body.
The individual components are assembled separately and joined in the so-called marriage. This is when the barbecue and the chassis come together to become a true Brennwagen.
No Brennwagen would exist without our bending pressure. Their impressive metal bodies are formed bend by bend, piece by piece. Everybody knows every single fold and turn of each part.
Before a Brennwagen leaves our workshop, we make sure that it works perfectly. From there, it moves to our dispatch store to get ready for transport to its proud owner.
The story does not end when the Brennwagen is packed ready for transport. We look after them even after they have left their place of birth: Our people are there to help with any unlikely problem that might arise. This lifetime warranty is a sign of our trust in our products.
